Augustino Cusimano
(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------A sexual exploitation of a minor investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a West Union man yesterday.
65 year old Augustino Cusimano was charged by an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Third Degree and one count of Dissemination, Procuring or Promoting Obscenity Unlawfully.
The investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division began when investigators were notified by an employee of the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services of evidence of possible child pornography on an electronic device.
As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Cusimano procured and possessed obscene and pornographic material, some of which depicted minors.
At this time, investigators do not believe that Cusimano was involved in any production of the obscene material discovered.
Cusimano remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $25,000 surety bond.
