Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Asks for Assistance Regarding Recent Seneca Area Thefts




(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help today in regards to recent thefts that occurred last month near Seneca. 

 

The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in relation to identifying a person of interest in the investigations.

 

On the morning of March 23rd, 2026, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to the Vehicle Maintenance facility on Wells Highway in reference to two vehicles that were broken into.  One of the vehicles is assigned to Oconee County Vehicle Maintenance while the other is assigned to Oconee County Roads and Bridges, which is located next door.

 

The two vehicles that were broken into were both full-size pickups.  Power tools and equipment were stolen from both trucks.

 

The person of interest that the Sheriff’s Office is looking to identify is a male wearing a baseball hat, an Ariat long sleeve shirt, white shoes, sweatpants and glasses.  The male also has a beard. 

 

The case has been assigned to a Property Crimes Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau.  Investigators believe that the thefts occurred sometime in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 22nd
