Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Reported Assault in the Earles Grove Community



(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------An assault incident that involved family members in the Earles Grove Community, which was initially reported as a stabbing, is currently under investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office does not believe that there is any danger to the public.


The adult male who suffered injuries in relation to the incident was transported to a hospital to receive treatment. Due to privacy and safety concerns, no information will be released about the victim, including his name, condition and hospital location where he is receiving treatment.


Just before 10am, dispatch received third party information of a reported stabbing on Cottontail Drive near Earles Grove Road, which is in the southern part of Oconee County in the Earles Grove community. A landing zone was initially set up at Fair-Oak Elementary School, which is located on Highway 182.


When deputies arrived on scene, no vehicles were observed in the roadway. Evidence, however, was located at the scene to indicate someone had been there.


Due to information provided to deputies, a patient involved in the incident was located at an address on Sam Brown Road near Canon Road and Argo Road. The patient had lacerations to the head and eye areas requiring medical attention. It is unknown at this time what type weapon caused the injuries.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
