(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------An Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau has filed an additional charge today against a Westminster man who was arrested yesterday in an Attempted Murder Investigation.

51 year old Eric Raymond Lavoie, of Misty Hollow Lane, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Wednesday evening on charges of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.  Today, Lavoie has been charged with one count of Domestic Violence – 1st Degree in relation to the same investigation.

Lavoie was charged after an incident over the weekend in which an adult male was stabbed multiple times by Lavoie with a knife at the Misty Hollow Lane address.  According to information obtained during the course of the investigation, Lavoie and his wife had an argument.  During the course of the argument, Lavoie pulled a knife on his wife.

The adult male, who is the victim of the crime, intervened and was stabbed by Lavoie with the knife.  Lavoie left the scene before Deputies arrived.  The victim was taken to another location and was later transported to the hospital by a medical helicopter.  The investigation was turned over the Criminal Investigators Bureau.

Lavoie was given a $150,000 surety bond on the Domestic Violence charge.

Lavoie’s bond was denied on the Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime charges.  Lavoie will appear before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding his bond on those charges.
