Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Announces Spots Available in Project Lifesaver Program

(Walhalla, SC)------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today that spots are available in the Project Lifesaver program.

Project Lifesaver is a tracking program for children diagnosed with Autism and Down Syndrome and for adults who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

One consideration for eligibility in the program is that both children and adults, with those specific diagnosed conditions, have to show a tendency of wondering.

Other considerations for eligibility are proof of residency in Oconee County and for children; they must attend school in Oconee County.  For adults, they must live in a residence in Oconee County but cannot reside in an Assisted Living or a Skilled Nursing Care facility.

To set up an appointment and discuss eligibility, contact the Victim Advocates at the Sheriff’s Office, either Deputy Katrina Carter at 864-718-1049 or Deputy Sonia Royal at 864-638-4247.
