Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Fair Play Woman on Kidnapping Charge

(Walhalla, SC)————————————–A Fair Play woman, wanted on a charge of Kidnapping, was arrested by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at her home yesterday during a warrants service.


48 year old Virginia Lea Driver, of Dairy Farm Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:42pm on November 6th. Driver was also served with an outstanding Magistrates Bench Warrant.


The Sheriff’s Office began its investigation, on March 23rd of this year, after the victim filed a report and stated that Driver, who was his bondsman, came to his house in Mountain Rest on March 4th, took him into custody and took him to the Dairy Farm Road address.


According to Investigators, the victim was confined at the Dairy Farm Road address overnight and taken back home the next day. According to information provided by the victim, the victim was released after receiving approval for a loan in order to pay Driver money that he owed to her.


Based upon evidence gathered during the investigation, an Investigator signed an arrest warrant against Driver due to Driver seizing, and then confining, the victim.


At this time, Driver remains in jail. Driver received a $10,000 surety bond on the Kidnapping charge.
