Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on Kidnapping and Domestic Violence Warrants

(Walhalla, SC)-----------------------------------A Seneca man, wanted on charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 1st Degree, was arrested last Saturday after a warrants service on Hillside Lane by deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division.


40 year old Jimarcus Rashawn Mattress, of the Hillside Lane address, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:35pm. A judge denied bond on both charges and Mattress will appear before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding his bond.


Late in the evening on Friday, February 11th, a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to Hillside Lane in regards to a Domestic Disturbance call. While heading to the scene, dispatch advised that a black male had left the scene in a vehicle. Deputies issued an alert to surrounding agencies in regards to the male subject and the vehicle he was in.


Three young children were located inside of the residence and deputies moved them to a place of safety. Deputies also made contact with the victim, who received treatment from paramedics. The victim was transported to the hospital for further treatment.


The investigation into the incident was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, it was determined that Mattress had assaulted the victim with three minor children present.


During the assault, the victim’s freedom of movement was restricted by Mattress, both physically and verbally, inside of the residence.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
