Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Attempted ATM Break-In Investigation



(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in regards to an attempted break-in of an ATM at the Wells Fargo location near Keowee Key and the Salem area.


A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched early Thursday morning, around 4:44am, to reports of an alarm call in regards to two subjects attempting to break-in to an ATM at the bank location on Rochester Highway. When the deputy arrived on scene, he observed damage to the ATM. Deputies began a search of the area in attempt to locate two subjects in relation to the attempted break-in, but the subjects had left the area.


Deputies notified the Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Units, who responded to the scene to continue the gathering of evidence.
