Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Locating Missing Salem Man

(Walhalla, SC)-----------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating a missing Salem man.


Late yesterday evening, around 9:33pm, a deputy was dispatched to Keowee Place Assisted Living, which is located on Highway 130, in regards to a reported missing person, 75 year old Samuel Capsouto.


A search for Samuel, by employees of the Assisted Living facility, began before the deputy arrived on scene. The Seneca Police Department, The Seneca Fire Department, as well as the deputies from the Investigations Division of the Sheriff’s Office, plus, a K-9 unit and a pilot for the Sheriff’s Office drone unit responded to the scene to conduct a search for Samuel. Samuel was not located and he was listed as missing in the National Crimes Information Center database.


Samuel was last seen wearing black shorts, white tennis shoes and a grey and orange quarter zip pullover. Samuel is 5’7” tall, weighs 160 pounds and has brown eyes and white hair. Samuel was last seen by the staff at the Assisted Living facility around 7pm Tuesday.


Samuel does have dementia and does not respond well verbally, according to information obtained by deputies.


If you come in contact with Samuel, you are asked to contact the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office immediately by dialing 911 or calling the non-emergency line at 864-638-4111.
