Teenager Wanted in Assault and Battery by Mob Investigation Arrested

(UPDATE: The Oconee County Sheriff's Office can report that 34 year old Andrew Lee Bryson was taken into custody today, Wednesday, February 21st, and was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center).


(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Seneca teenager who was wanted on a charge of Assault and Battery by Mob – 2nd Degree was taken into custody today in the southern part of Oconee County near the Georgia/South Carolina line.

 

19 year old Chase Landon Bonecutter of Seneca was arrested today around 1:33pm during a warrant service at an address on Cleveland Pike Road near Old Liberty Road.  Bonecutter was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center and booked into jail around 5:03pm today.

 

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began during the early morning hours of January 20th after Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to a report of an assault on Sherwood Drive near Walhalla.  After arriving on scene, Deputies made contact with an adult male, who told Deputies that he had been assaulted. 

 

Paramedics responded to the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault.  Deputies also began the process of gathering evidence from the scene. The investigation was turned over to the Violent Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Bureau. 

 

Based upon evidence gathered during the investigation, it was determined that Bonecutter, along with 34 year old Andrew Lee Bryson of Walhalla, 33 year old Kellie Renee Brown of Seneca and 34 year old Michael Joseph Marcello, Jr. of Westminster assaulted the victim on his head and body with metal pipes.  All four were charged with one count each of Assault and Battery by Mob – 2nd Degree. 

 

Brown was arrested and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on January 25th at around 5:48pm.  Brown received a $25,000 surety bond.  After posting bond, Brown was released from jail on an electronic monitoring device as a condition of bond.

 

Marcello, Jr. was served an arrest warrant on his charge back on January 30th at the Oconee County Detention Center.  Marcello, Jr. was arrested on January 24th on two Magistrate Bench Warrants.  At this time, Marcello, Jr. remains in jail.  Marcello, Jr. was given a $25,000 suretybond.  Marcello, Jr. will also be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.  Due to the nature of the crime, and for safety and health privacy reasons, neither the victim’s name nor their medical condition will be released by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
