Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Announces Additional Arrests in Drug Round-Up

(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today additional arrests in the current Sheriff’s Office drug round-up.  The Sheriff’s Office began the operation with a meeting and briefing at 8:30am on Wednesday, October 1^st.   

    The Sheriff’s Office obtained 35 arrest warrants on 23 persons.  The arrest warrants were obtained based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office.  The narcotics purchased during the controlled buys were Fentanyl, Methamphetamine and Prescription Medication.  Arrest warrants for Criminal Conspiracy were also obtained against two subjects.  Five additional arrest warrants were also obtained for narcotics seized during arrests made earlier this month.   

     As of 11am today, a total of sixteen persons have been arrested so far or were already in jail at the Oconee County Detention Center and have been served their arrest warrants in direct relation to the drug round-up.  The name of latest arrestee is as follows: 

· Susan Marie Smith

47 years old

W. Main Street, West Union, SC 

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 2 counts

Smith was arrested and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 11:29am on Thursday, October 23^rd.  Smith was arrested during a warrant service on Playground Road near Walhalla.  Smith received a combined $70,000 surety bond.  Smith will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device as a condition of posting bond. 

· Also arrested during the warrant service on Playground Road Thursday was 23 year old Susan Nichole Smith of the Playground Road address.  Smith was arrested and booked into jail, at around 11:37am yesterday, on a charge of Accessory after the Fact of a Felony.  During the warrant service, Deputies located Susan Marie Smith hiding in the same room where Deputies also made contact with Susan Nichole Smith.  Susan Nichole Smith had told Deputies that Susan Marie Smith was not there.  Susan Nichole Smith received a $10,000 surety bond and was released from jail today after posting bond.    

The following persons, who have also been charged in the round-up, are currently incarcerated outside of Oconee County, according to Narcotics Agents.  The following persons will be served their warrants at a later time:

· Kerrie Cheyenne Boggs

Marv’s Drive, Walhalla, SC  

            35 years old

            Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

            Boggs is currently incarcerated in the Anderson County Detention Center 

· Bryan Lance Roach

Flat Shoals Road, Walhalla, SC

25 years old

Possession of Fentanyl – 1 count

Giving False Information to Law Enforcement – 1 count

Roach is currently incarcerated in the Pickens County Detention Center

· Shawn Lee Foote, II

Ames Street, Seneca, SC

26 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Foote II is currently incarcerated in a South Carolina Department of Corrections Facility

· Joe Navarro, III

Dr. John’s Road, Westminster, SC

43 years old

Trafficking in Methamphetamine – 2 counts
