Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Longcreek Man on Trafficking in Methamphetamine Charge

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Longcreek man remains in jail today, pending a bond hearing, after his arrest yesterday evening on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
60 year old Johnny Albert Roach, of Brandywine Meir Lane, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:24pm Thursday.
A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau, on routine patrol Thursday evening on Cobb Bridge Road, initiated a traffic stop on a driver of a red Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck due to a traffic violation. The traffic stop occurred at the intersection of Cobb Bridge Road and Ramsey Creek Road, which is near Westminster.
The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Roach. A female passenger was also located inside of the truck. The Deputy observed a strong odor of Marijuana emanating from the vehicle and asked Roach and the female passenger to get out of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle by Deputies produced a quantity of Methamphetamine inside of the truck. Roach took ownership of the narcotics found inside. Roach was placed under arrest and transported to jail. The female passenger was released from the scene. The truck was also towed away from the scene.
Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, Roach was found to be in possession of approximately 37.3 grams of Methamphetamine.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
