
(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20 year man Seneca man and detained a 14 year old from Walhalla today on charges related to an early Thursday morning shooting investigation.
20 year old Daniel Jordan Perry, of Cody Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 9:09am this morning and has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and one count each of Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle while Occupied.
The 14 year old has been transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia on two counts of Attempted Murder and one count each of Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle while Occupied. A Juvenile Referral Packet has been created for the teenager in regards to adjudication proceedings in Family Court.
Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau were dispatched to an address on Redland Ranch Road, near Walhalla, at around 3:23am today in regards to a report of a shooting. After responding to the scene, Deputies spoke with the two victims, both adult males, who said that they were shot at in a vehicle on Blue Ridge Boulevard near the Poplar Springs Road overpass.
While on scene, Deputies began to collect evidence. As the investigation continued, Deputies learned that a verbal altercation had occurred at a separate address in Walhalla early this morning. The victims in the shooting incident left in one vehicle while the other party, identified as Perry and the 14 year old, began pursuing them in a Ford Focus.
Based upon evidence gathered during the investigation, the driver of the Ford Focus pulled alongside the vehicle that the victims were in on Blue Ridge Boulevard. Shots were then fired from inside the Focus into the vehicle that the victims were in. The driver of the Focus then drove away from the scene towards Seneca.
The investigation was turned over to Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau. The suspects in the investigation were taken into custody later at an address on Kermit Street near Walhalla.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
