Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Salem Man on Trafficking in Methamphetamine Charge

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------A traffic stop on a vehicle Sunday morning, by a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division on routine patrol, led to the arrest of the driver on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.


20 year old Keith Allen Alexander, Jr., of N. Little River Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:55pm yesterday. At this time, Alexander, Jr. remains in custody on a $25,000 surety bond.


The traffic stop occurred after the deputy observed a vehicle, on Burt Hill Road at N. Highway 11 near Salem, without a license plate. The deputy made contact with Alexander, Jr. During the investigation, the deputy observed the handle of weapon in Alexander’s Jr’s back pocket.


During a search conducted by the deputy, a quantity of Methamphetamine was discovered on Alexander, Jr.’s person. Alexander, Jr. was placed under arrest.


Alexander, Jr. was also issued courtesy citations for charges of Driving under Suspension, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, for an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and for an Open Container.
