Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man in Armed Robbery Investigation

Jean Marc Ralph Brierre

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Seneca man remains in jail today, on a combined $37,205.00 surety bond, after his arrest overnight on charges related to a Monday afternoon armed robbery investigation.

29 year old Jean Marc Ralph Brierre, of Lakeview Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:14am today. Brierre was charged with one count each of Armed Robbery while Armed with a Deadly Weapon, Petit Larceny, and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.

Around 2:45pm Monday, Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to reports of an armed robbery at a Seneca area business, which is located on Sandifer Boulevard. When Deputies arrived to begin their investigation, they were told by an employee that a man, later identified as Brierre, had entered the store and asked about some items which were located behind the counter.

After the items were retrieved in order to complete a sale, Brierre reportedly produced a knife and presented it to the employee. Brierre then grabbed the items from the counter, ran out of the store, and drove away from the scene in a 2013 Volvo.

Investigators and an Evidence Technician from the Criminal Investigations Bureau arrived on scene to continue the investigation. Information regarding a description of the suspect, and of the vehicle he was driving, were relayed to surrounding agencies.

Brierre was taken into custody yesterday evening at a business in the city limits of Seneca, with the assistance from the Seneca Police Department, and was transported to jail. Investigators also obtained evidence from the scene where Brierre was taken into custody.

According the arrest warrants obtained by an Investigator, Brierre stole three Delta 8 disposables, gummies, and pods from the scene of the crime, while armed with a knife.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
