(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Spartanburg man remains in jail today after his arrest on charges related to a Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor investigation.
21 year old Nathan Timothy Hanna, of Aimee Len Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 3:55pm Tuesday on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – 2nd Degree.
Hanna was transported yesterday from the Clayton County (GA) Jail to Oconee County by a Deputy assigned to the Warrants Unit. Hanna was denied bond on both charges during an initial appearance before a Judge. Hanna will appear before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding his bond.
The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on January 21st of this year after a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau spoke with a family member of the victim. The family member told the Deputy that Hanna had engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim at the victim’s home near Seneca on two consecutive days of this year, January 16th and January 17th. The victim is a teenager.
The investigation was turned over to a Violent Crimes Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau. Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, it was determined that Hanna had engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigations. In order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, and that of the victim who is a minor, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will not release any information that could, in any way, identify the victim in this investigation.
