Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Three on Drug Trafficking Charges after Wednesday Morning Traffic Stop

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested three persons, two males and one female, on drug trafficking charges as result of a Wednesday morning traffic stop near Walhalla.

 

The following three persons were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center yesterday morning on the following charges:

 

· 20 year old Iris Paulina Gonzales Rivera

La Chateau Place, Tucker, GA

Rivera was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 3:45am on Wednesday, February 11th. 

Rivera has been charged with one count each of Trafficking in a Scheduled One Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Narcotics), Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule One Controlled Substance (Marijuana and liquid THC Vapes), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Adderall) and Possession of Cocaine. 

At this time, Rivera remains in jail on a combined $310,000 surety bond.  Rivera will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should she be released from jail.

 

· 18 year old Jose Ismael Torres

Welborn Road, West Union, SC

Torres was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 3:45am on Wednesday, February 11th.

Torres has been charged with one count each of Trafficking in a Scheduled One Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Narcotics), Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule One Controlled Substance (Marijuana and liquid THC Vapes) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Adderall).

At this time, Torres remains in jail on a combined $305,000 surety bond.  Torres will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.


· 18 year old Eric Daniel Palmer II

Verner Street, Walhalla, SC

Palmer II was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 3:53am on Wednesday, February 11th.

Palmer II has been charged with one count each of Trafficking in a Scheduled One Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Narcotics), Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule One Controlled Substance (Marijuana and liquid THC Vapes), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Adderall) and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime. 

At this time, Palmer II remains in jail on a combined $315,000 surety bond.  Palmer II will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.

 

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began early yesterday morning after a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau, on routine patrol on Highlands Highway, initiated a traffic stop on a white Nissan Altima due to a traffic violation.  The traffic stop occurred on Echo Trail. 

 

The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Palmer II.  The two passengers in the vehicle were identified as Rivera and Torres.  Due to the smell of Marijuana emanating from the vehicle, Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle.

 

A search of the vehicle produced a quantity of narcotics, along with two firearms.  None of the occupants of the vehicle claimed ownership of the narcotics.  Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, all three were placed under arrest and transported to jail. 

 

According to the arrest warrants, approximately 569 grams of Marijuana, approximately 1.362.5 grams of liquid THC via Vapes, approximately 7 Adderall Pills and approximately 40.5 grams of Psilocybin Narcotics were seized was result of the traffic stop. 

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigations.
