Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Two Men after Execution of a Search Warrant

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A search warrant executed Thursday morning in relation to an ongoing investigation led to the arrest of two Seneca men.

 

The search warrant was obtained by Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau in relation to an ongoing investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on the Utica Mill Hill last Friday evening.  The search warrant was executed at an apartment in a complex on South Oak Street in Seneca.

 

Arrested were 22 year old Standestin Lamar Earl and 21 year old Daylyn Christopher Kennel.   Lamar and Kennel were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 1:50pm and 2:05pm respectively yesterday.  At this time, Earl remains in jail pending a bond hearing. Kennel also remains in jail, at this time, on a combined $10,000 surety bond.

 

During the execution of the search warrant yesterday, Investigators discovered illegal narcotics inside two bedrooms of the apartment.  Inside one bedroom, which belonged to Kennel, Investigators seized approximately 1.8 pounds of marijuana along with a quantity of Oxycodone. Inside the bedroom that belonged to Earl, Investigators seized a quantity of Alprazolam, Tramadol, MDMA (Ecstasy) and Marijuana.

 

Based upon evidence obtained during the execution of the search warrant, Kennel was charged with one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.  Earl was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count each of Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA (Ecstasy) and Possession of Marijuana. 

 

Earl was also served an arrest warrant on a charge of Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling in relation to the shooting incident that occurred on Sirrine Street on April 19th. 

 

Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to the location of the shooting late last week and discovered evidence of multiple shots being fired from a vehicle at a residence on Sirrine Street.  An Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the scene and continued the investigation and the gathering of evidence. 

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
