Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Man on Kidnapping and Domestic Violence Charges

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------A Westminster man, who was arrested yesterday on charges related to a Domestic Violence investigation, remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center today after his bond was denied.


39 year old Jimmy Rodriquez Rogers, of Coffee Road, will appear before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding his bond on charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 1st Degree.


A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to the Coffee Road address last Friday evening in regards to reports of a possible domestic disturbance after dispatch received information from a third party.


After arriving on scene, the deputy made contact with Rogers and the victim. The deputy observed a physical manifestation of injuries on the victim and the victim told the deputy that she was assaulted. According to the victim, Rogers would not let her have her phone. The victim said that when she was able to make it outside to call for help, Rogers came out, started grabbing her and told her to come back inside the residence. The victim said that Rogers told her to stay in the house when law enforcement was in the area in response to the call for service.


The victim stated that she asked to go home but Rogers continued to abuse her. Rogers left the residence after deputies separated the parties to conduct their investigation. The deputy gave the victim a ride back to her residence.


Based on evidence that was gathered during the investigation, warrants were obtained against Rogers on charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 1st Degree.
