(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man Tuesday morning on a charge of Kidnapping.
26 year old Bradley Thomas Moore, of Mount Bay Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:48am yesterday.
Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division went to the Mount Bay Drive address on Tuesday morning to serve a civil paper and two outstanding arrest warrants on Moore. Mount Bay Drive is located in the southern part of Oconee County in the Foxwood Hills Subdivision.
The two outstanding arrest warrants against Moore were for charges of Driving under Suspension and a Habitual Traffic Offender. The arrest warrants were obtained after Deputies responded to a separate address on Mount Bay Drive, on August 1st of this year, due to reports of shots being fired.
During the call for service on August 1st, a Deputy obtained evidence that showed Moore was driving a truck on Mount Bay Drive with his license being suspended. Based upon that evidence, arrest warrants against Moore were obtained.
When Deputies arrived yesterday morning and knocked on the door, no one answered. Deputies heard music playing inside of the home, detected an odor of Marijuana coming from inside of the residence and observed three vehicles on the property. Deputies contacted a property owner who gave consent for the Deputies to enter the residence.
Deputies entered and announced their presence inside of the residence. Deputies eventually located Moore inside a bedroom of the residence covered with a blanket. Moore was placed under arrest. Deputies also made contact with two adult females inside of the residence.
Further investigation revealed that Moore would not allow one of the women to leave the residence to go to work and made a threat towards the same victim. Based upon evidence that was obtained during the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained against Moore on a charge of Kidnapping for unlawfully confining the victim.
At this time, Moore remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center. Moore received a $1,270.00 surety bond on the Driving under Suspension charge, a $5,000.00 surety bond on the Habitual Traffic Offender and a $10,000.00 surety bond on the Kidnapping charge. Moore will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
