Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Woman on Drug Trafficking Charge

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster over this past weekend on multiple charges, including a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.


30 year old Whitney Sloan Peay, of Sunshine Circle, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 8:50pm last Saturday evening. Peay has also been charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Furnishing Contraband into a Detention Facility.


Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Cedar Wood Ranch Road in southern Oconee County last Saturday evening in regards to reports of a suspicious vehicle that was possibly on fire. Dispatch advised the deputies that there was not a vehicle fire; however, emergency responders were out with an unconscious subject, who was identified as Peay.


Emergency responders were providing medical attention to Peay, who was located in the driver’s seat of a silver 2003 Nissan Altima. Upon further investigation, a deputy discovered a quantity of narcotics (Methamphetamine and Prescription Medication) inside of the vehicle.


After receiving medical treatment, Peay was placed under arrest by deputies in regards to the drugs discovered. As she was being booked into jail, further quantities of narcotics were discovered on Peay’s person.


At this time, Peay remains in custody, at the Oconee County Detention Center, as her bond was denied on all charges. Peay will appear before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding bond. Peay will also be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should she be released.
