Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Wednesday Evening Shooting near Seneca



(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division and deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division were dispatched this evening due to reports of a shooting incident near Seneca.


The E-911/Communications Center received a call this evening around 8:49pm of a male laying in the middle of the road on Mormon Church Road who had a gunshot wound to the leg.


The male victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Due to health privacy and safety concerns, no information about the victim or his condition will be released.


At this time, the Sheriff’s Office believes that there is no danger to the public.


The investigation is in its early stages and due to that fact, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any further information at this time.
