OCSO Arrests Seneca Man in Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor Investigation

(Walhalla, SC)————————————–The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man yesterday on multiple charges related to a Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor investigation.


26 year old Jessie Dewayne Shook was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:17pm Monday. Shook has been charged with one count each of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Second Degree and Disseminating Harmful Material to a Minor as well as six counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Third Degree.


The Sheriff’s Office investigation began on February 27th of this year after a family member of the victim notified the Sheriff’s Office that Shook was having sexual relations with an underage teenager.


The investigation was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau. During the course of the investigation, according to arrest warrants, Shook had sexual intercourse with the teenager between the summer of 2020 and the summer of 2021.


The investigation also uncovered images of the teenager that were sent to Shook as well as images of Shook that were sent to the teenager.


Shook, who was also served four Magistrate Bench Warrants when he booked into jail, remains in custody at the Detention Center on a combined $50,000 surety bond.


In order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, and that of the victim, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any information that could potentially identify the victim in our investigation.
