OCSO Arrests Seneca Man on Trafficking in Methamphetamine after Traffic Stop

(Walhalla, SC)————————————–A Monday evening traffic stop on the Utica Mill led to the arrest of a Seneca man on multiple drug charges, including a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.


54 year old David Allen Abbott of E. Main Street has also been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Alprazolam and Diazepam) and one count of Possession of Marijuana.


A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division, on routine patrol, observed a motorcycle commit a traffic violation and initiated a traffic stop at an address on Goddard Avenue near Seneca. The deputy made contact with Abbott, who was the operator of the motorcycle.


The deputy asked for Abbott’s driver’s license and insurance information for the motorcycle. As he retrieved the requested information, Abbott dropped a plastic baggy to the ground.


The deputy retrieved the baggy and observed a quantity of narcotics inside. The deputy also discovered a quantity of narcotics on Abbott’s person.


Abbott was placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.


At this time, Abbott remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. A hold has been placed on Abbott by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.
