OCSO Arrests Seneca Man on Two Counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------A Seneca man was taken into custody today, and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center, on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Second Degree.


36 year old Joshua Edward Worley, Sr. was booked into jail around 2:31pm this afternoon. At this time, Worley, Sr. remains in jail on a combined $40,000 surety bond.


A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau took a report on September 16th of this year in regards to reported molestation between the victim and Worley Sr. The investigation was turned over to the Criminal Investigations/School Safety Bureau.


As the investigation continued, and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Worley, Sr. had sexual intercourse with the victim, who was a child, between September of 2018 and September of 2019. Also, Worley, Sr. had sexual intercourse with the same victim, a teenager, during the summer of 2022. The sexual assaults involved only one victim and occurred within the boundaries of Oconee County.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation, and in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, and that of the victim, the Sheriff’s Office will not release any information that could, either directly or indirectly, identify the victim in this case.
