OCSO Arrests Townville Man on Trafficking in Methamphetamine Charge after Traffic Stop

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A traffic stop conducted by an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division led to the arrest of a Townville man on multiple charges, including a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

31 year old Kyle Dwaine Glenn, of Coneross Creek Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:59pm on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained today. Glenn has also been charged with one count each of Failure to stop for a Blue Light, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.

The investigator observed Glenn operating a motorcycle while speeding and driving reckless late yesterday morning on West-Oak Highway and initiated a traffic stop. Glenn did not pull over initially after being signaled to stop but did pull over on West-Oak Highway near Coneross Creek Road.

The investigator observed a handgun on Glenn’s hip; however, Glenn did not have a Concealed Weapons Permit in order to carry the firearm on his person. A search of Glenn’s person also produced approximately 17 grams of Methamphetamine. The charge for Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime is based on possessing a weapon during the commission of drug trafficking, which is considered to be a violent crime under South Carolina law.

Glenn was then placed under arrest and transported to the Detention Center. At this time, Glenn remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
