Seneca Woman Remains in Jail after Weekend Burglary Arrest

Brittany Sue Hoke

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Seneca woman remains in jail today, on a combined $11,552.50 surety bond, after her arrest over the weekend during a burglary investigation.

33 year old Brittany Sue Hoke, of Knollcrest Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 1:23am Sunday.

Hoke has been charged with one count each of First Degree Burglary, Resisting Arrest, Breach of Peace and Giving False Information.

Deputies responded to an address on S. Walnut Street, near Hope Avenue and the city of Seneca, late Saturday evening in regards a report of a burglary in progress.  When a Deputy arrived on scene at the location of the residence, he made contact with the suspect, who was identified as Hoke.

Hoke refused officer commands, backed and pulled away from the Deputy and also refused to place her arms behind her back.  Hoke eventually was taken into custody.

Deputies spoke with the homeowners, who told Deputies that Hoke was discovered in the bathroom of the residence.  During the course of the investigation, Deputies learned that Hoke was asked to leave by the homeowners, but she refused to leave.  Hoke then left the residence upon hearing the sirens of the initial responding Deputy.

Also, during the investigation, Hoke provided Deputies with a false name.  After arriving at the Detention Center, Detention Deputies were able to confirm her true identity.

According to an arrest warrant, Hoke entered the residence at night and refused to leave upon request of the homeowners.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
