(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Walhalla man remains in jail today, pending a bond hearing, after his arrest yesterday on three arrest warrants, which include a charge of First Degree Burglary.
34 year old Brent Eric Money, of Whitman Hollow Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 4:21pm Wednesday. Money was also charged with one count each of Malicious Injury to Property and Petit Larceny.
The Sheriff’s Office investigation began on June 24th after a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to a separate address on Whitman Hollow Road in reference to a vandalism call for an incident that occurred on June 21st. The Deputy responded after speaking with the homeowner.
After arriving on scene, the Deputy discovered damage to a door frame of the residence. The Deputy had received permission from the homeowner to enter the home to check to see if someone was inside.
During the course of the investigation, and based upon the evidence that was obtained, it was determined that Money had entered the residence during the nighttime hours of June 21st without the consent of the homeowner and with the intent to commit a crime.
According to an arrest warrant, Money also caused damage by kicking in the door of the home, causing damage to the door, door frame and the adjoining wall. Money was also charged with stealing food and beverage items from the residence during the incident.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
